Empire State Building - New York City        

In the heart of New York City, the Empire State Building, at 5th Avenue and 34th Street, was designed by Shreve, Lamb and Harmon Architects and was built by Starrett Brothers and Eken, at a cost of $40,948,900. Completed on November 13, 1930, it stood proudly, as the tallest building in the world at 1,453 feet, 8 9/16th inches tall.

Almost a year of research and drawing went into the image offered here.  Over 55,000 individual lines, curves and tones make up the whole.  From the radio mast to the storefronts at street level, every detail is shown.  The sunburst emanating from the spire, is taken from a huge metal Art Deco mosaic in the elevator lobby.
