Lincoln Memorial - Washington D. C.

Dedicated on Memorial Day, 1922, the Lincoln Memorial is
204 feet long, 134 feet wide and 99 feet tall. Designed by Architect Henry
Bacon, and constructed at a cost of $3,000,000, the classic
Daniel Chester French, noted American
sculptor, carved the famous statue of Lincoln, which is 19 feet high and carved
out of 28 blocks of white Georgia marble.
Every building
line, step, column, decoration is drawn in exacting detail. Even the names of
the 36 states, laurel wreaths and garland facing the frieze of the monument is
faithfully reproduced. Texturing and shading has been added to increase the
degree of realism, without sacrificing historical detail. The background of the
image is the Gettysburg Address.
