Audi R10 TDI  Winner 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans

The Audi R10 TDI was introduced in 2005, building on the considerable success of the R8.   The R10 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2006, 2007 and again in 2008; driven by Tom Kristensen, Rinaldo Capello and Alan McNish.

Powered by the 5.5 litre V12 TDI turbodiesel, which produces 650 brake horsepower at 811 foot pounds of torque, the #2 Audi Sport North America team car took the race lead after five hours and held it to the checkered flag, giving Audi its third Le Mans victory in a row.

This win gave Kristensen his eighth Le Mans victory, McNish his second and Capello his third.
