Brabham BT 52B Nelson Piquet 1983 F 1 World Champion - European GP

This limited edition art print represents the Brabham BT 52B in its livery at the European Grand Prix, Brands Hatch Circuit, Kent England, 25 September, 1983.

The BT 52 was designed for the ’83 season by the renowned Brabham designer Gordon Murray, and was driven by Nelson Piquet and Riccardo Patrese.  Piquet won the maiden race in Brazil, and then had to content himself with collecting Championship points for seconds, thirds and fourths.

With his win at European Grand Prix at Brands Hatch, Piquet had enough points to win the Drivers Championship, although Brabham had only manager a third in the Constructors.

The Brabham BT 52B was the first supercharged Formula One car to win a race.
