Civil War ironclad USS Monitor.

Monitor was designed by John Ericcson, was 172 feet in length, had a beam of 41 feet 6 inches, a draft of 10 feet 6 inches and displaced 987 tons.  59 officers and men made up the complement and she sported two 11 inch Smooth Bore Dahlgren guns.

Monitor was lost during a heavy storm in December 31st of the same year off Cape Hatteras.
