Discovery is one of the three remaining NASA Space Fleet Shuttles, the others being Adventure and Atlantis.

The name Discovery has a long and proud tradition, including ships sailed by Captain James Cook to the South Seas, Henry Hudson on his voyage looking for a Northwest Passage and the vessel used by Scott and Shackleton on their expedition to Antarctica.

Discovery’s first flight was on August 30, 1984 and she was the ship which carried the Hubble Telescope into orbit. She also lifted John Glenn back into space in his 77th year.
