Train Art of the Santa Fe Super Chief F-7 

Train Art of the Santa Fe EMD F-7, which many consider to have been the pinnacle of streamlined locomotive design, and in their role as the Santa Fe Super Chiefs, complete with War Bonnet paint scheme, clever advertising, speed and luxurious service, they quickly became the Gold Standard of elegant passenger rail travel in North America.

Production of the 1,500 hp diesel-electric F7s began at GM's La Grange, Illinois plant in February of 1949. In all, 2,366 cab-equipped "A" units and 1,483 "B" units were delivered, before production ended in December of 1953.
